Teachers as Learners
Throughout the school year our teachers work in professional teams to collaborate on action plans, documents, and activities to enhance and address goals and objectives we have identified in the areas of student learning and peer relations. The focus of these teams is to analyze student performance in the areas of academics and social/emotional to inform teaching and learning to ensure the best programs, curriculum, and instructional practices are being utilized.
School Climate/Safety/Security Team
To effectively implement the school pro-social skills program and participate in development of school theme activities to ensure student growth in the areas of conflict resolution, social decision-making, and bullying awareness. In addition, this team works with administration and local police and fire departments to ensure the district has the most effective and appropriate critical emergency response plans.
District Education Advisory Committee/ School Improvement Panel/ Professional Development Team
To assist in the implementation of a common language and clear expectations for highly effective teaching practices to provide teachers with timely, actionable, and data-drive feedback that results in targeted professional development for best practices in teaching and learning.
Common Core Team/Curriculum Committee/ Technology Committee
To assist in the implementation of shifts outlined by the ELA and Math Common Core Standards, College and Career Anchor Standards, Literacy in History, Social Studies, Science, and Technology Standards, and Math Practices Standards to ensure high levels of rigor and readiness for students in both preparation for high school and the PARCC assessments. In addition, this team examines best practice strategies in the creation,implementation, and reflection of our district's technology.
Special Education Team
To research best practices in special education to supplement curricular goals with appropriate accommodations and modifications. This team also generates awareness among students and the community for special education.
Primary (PreK- 2) Grades Team
To inform and share best instructional practices in primary school education and to provide appropriate academic and pro-social experiences for our primary students.
Intermediate (3-5) Grades Team
To inform and share best instructional practices in intermediate school education and to provide appropriate academic and pro-social experiences for our intermediate students.
Middle Grades ( 6-8) Team
To inform and share best instructional practices in middle school education and to provide appropriate academic and pro-social experiences for our middle grades students.
Special Areas Team
To inform and share best instructional practices in special area education, to support the efforts of the primary, intermediate, and middle grades teams and to provide appropriate academic and pro-social experiences for our students.
