Update from the Superintendent on our Spanish program

January 31, 2017

Dear Parents and Guardians of our Grade 8 Students,

I am so pleased to report some excellent news about our Spanish program during a school year of impacting situations out of our control.

This is the time of year we have to send recommendations to Manasquan High School as whether our grade 8 students are ready for either Spanish I or Spanish II.  While the general desire of our students, parents, and guardians is Spanish II, it is difficult to know this year whether or not our grade 8 students will be ready for Spanish II as there is no placement test for this assessment utilized by Manasquan High School.

I reached out to my colleague Superintendent at Manasquan, Dr. Frank Kasyan, and explained our challenge.  As a result, he and I are collaboratively developing a summer course for our interested grade 8 students to ensure they are prepared for Spanish II in the fall.

There will be more information to follow but I wanted to immediately share this good news.

Thank you,

Dr. Raymond J. Boccuti
Superintendent, Principal, CSA
